Hi, I’m Jonny, owner of Ninja Flies. Thats me in the picture above showing off my first Jig Fly caught Pike on my local river.

I’ve been tying flies for over 30 years, including several years as a commercial fly tyer in the early 2000's. My first fly, the Pink Diamond, a simple but effective dry fly of my own design gained popularity after I sold some on eBay.

At the time, I was working in London as a 3D-modeller for a major video games company. When I was made redundant in 2002, I saw it as an opportunity to pursue my passion for fly tying full-time. I built a website and expanded my business from selling hand-tied trout flies to a full range of fly fishing and fly tying products.

In 2004, I entered Trout Fisherman magazine’s 'Commercial Fly Tyers' competition and placed second among nine competitors, not bad when the winner is still a very well known company mass producing their flies!!

In 2009, I was offered an exciting role with a leading media company, working on major projects, including one that involved a rather famous young wizard! This led to the difficult decision to sell my fly fishing business, which by the way continues to thrive today.

Fast-forward to the present, and I’ve rekindled my passion for fly tying. After collaborating with a local tackle shop designing several successful jig pike fly patterns, I decided to return to commercial fly tying and offer my flies for sale once again.
